"The best food that one will ever eat is food made with love. Macaroni and cheese, green bean casserole, and all those other "unhealthy" holiday favorites are tantalizing to families when they join together to feast. On a daily basis, a mother serving her child oatmeal cooked in water stirs in love to it. Grandmothers knead love into bread, pastries and pies. Reiki masters everywhere learn the parlor trick of "stirring" water with their hands above the pitcher. The energy of the food is changed through these practices and love is imbued."

Dr. Dee often discusses “finding the metaphor” or taking a somatic approach to discovering a root cause of what appears to be a physical problem but may actually be deeper. True behavioral change may mean releasing energy that is no longer serving a client. Sometimes clients seek her out specifically because they are ready find their metaphor for illness and reach new levels of healing. Although, they usually do not come in thinking that is why they are there!
Finding the metaphor involves digging into the physical, mental and spiritual to see where those energy systems collide to create a problem. For example, a person with hunched shoulders or a kink in their neck may be “carrying the weight of the world on their back”. A person with degenerating arthritis in their hip may have had a “crippling experience” or feel “crippled” about moving forward in life. A person whose gut is expanding and dense may be “harboring resentment” or “felt like they got a kick to the gut”. An anorexic may feel “invisible” to her family or spouse. An obese person may want to “barricade themselves from hurt”.

Detoxing is a pattern of eating designed to support the body's natural ability to cleanse itself. Detoxification is not drinking a "green drink" or "going keto". Detoxification is a "lifestyle" which emphasizes the food-as-medicine approach to supplying the myriad of nutrients required to keep the highly complex detoxification processes functioning and balanced.
A variety of foods insures that clients are well balanced. Everyone knows about nutrient dense foods, but many people are not familiar with nutrient unique foods. Nutrient unique foods are foods which contain unique nutrients or phytochemicals. Plant chemicals are more powerful when they work together which is called food synergy. Choosing nutrient dense and nutrient unique foods gives your body the broadest spectrum of nutrient synergistic combinations.
When you come in for a session, Dr. Dee will review with you the foods you are eating that are supporting your health and the ones that you may not realize you should be including. There is way more to healthy eating than kale and blueberries!
